July 23rd - Legs and Back

Worked out early today and that probably was a mistake.  I couldn't really push myself like I can in the evening and I was wore out!!  However, I still completed it and feel great.

This weekend I will be back in my hometown for the 4-H fair.  It is one of the largest county fairs in America.  I really have to watch what I eat because elephant ears are delicious and so are the fresh hot doughnuts!!  So I will be taking tomorrow as my rest day and then work out, Kenpo X style on Sunday when I return home.

July 22nd - Yoga X and Gavin's swim lessons.

Tonight was Gavin's, our son, last swim lesson.  He is 9 months old and REALLY likes the backstroke!!  It only lasts half of an hour but he enjoys it.  Sad to see it end already.

On to P90X and Yoga X which is extreme!  I never tried yoga before P90X because I thought it was stupid :)  I was very wrong!  Yoga is great.  There is not a ton of movement but you sweat a TON.  Yoga X is 1.5 hours and works you hard.  I continue to get better at the poses although they are still very difficult.  Yoga blocks are my friend on some of the moves.  The thing to keep in mind is don't give up and don't give in.  Keep pushing it to the best of your ability.  If you keep doing that, the pay off will come and the moves will become much easier.

That's all for tonight.

July 21st - Day 33 Back and Biceps plus Ab RipperX

Tonight was Back and Biceps plus Ab Ripper X!  This was a hard bicep workout as there was a TON of curl exercises.  I still have trouble with pull ups and don't think I will be getting better very quickly.  I use a 30 lb resistance band on my knee and use the door mounted pull up bar.  I can get up a few times on each exercise but it is HARD.  I am hoping that I can at least do 5-6 of each type of pull up with full range of motion at the end of P90X.  Anyone that thinks they can do better and hasn't tried a P90X workout, good luck! :)  The pain is totally worth it though.

Ab Ripper X is another animal all together.  There are 11 different core exercise moves with 25 reps each.  I can maybe do about 60% of the reps.  This, I feel, is the hardest part of P90X.  Ab Ripper X is 3 times a week!  By the end of P90X, I plan on doing 100% of Ab Ripper X!

That's all for now!

July 20th - Beachbody Coach & Plyo X

First day as a Beachbody coach and also Plyo X day!!  Plyo is always difficult but I would say I can get through almost 95% of everything and I just started phase 2.  According to my heart rate monitor I burned 1005 calories which is awesome.  Time for some recovery drink :)  Even though this is my first post, I don't have a ton to say except - as my man Tony Horton says, "Do your best and forget the rest!"

Good Night,
Derick

Just wanted to add my before Power 90 and then my 30 days into P90X photo's.  60 days to go!!!!!!
